Good things come to those who are patient and trust the process.

This post from Squat University is so true.

There is a common saying in the fitness world (and everywhere really) That the dose creates the poison. If your progressing at a steady healthy pace ramping up the volume may give you great results for one week but in the long run will ruin your goals, as your body will adapt to the new lifestyle (training, diet etc.) and you will be stuck with an adapted body to calories and training that probably is something that you don’t want to or can’t maintain.

When it comes to training think of it like going out into the sun. If you go out and get an appropriate amount of sun you will get a nice tan, which over time will allow you to be exposed to more sun (progressive overload). while if you get to much sun you will get a sunburn, so instead of getting a tan your body instead has to repair the skin that was damaged.

The same with weight training if you overdo it instead of building muscle you will spend all your recover time repairing muscle damage.

Take your time and enjoy the process as best you can. It will be worth the work
